Dr. Bert Rosenthal
President and Managing Partner, R&S Research, LLC
Co-Inventor of bluMjk Pain Relief
After completing his training at UCLA Medical Center, Dr. Rosenthal became the first Director of the Coronary Care Unit at UCLA. He completed a thirty year career as a Cardiology Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist over ten years ago. A part of his career was devoted to Medico-legal expert work consisting of 24 court appearances and over hundred depositions for both plaintiff and defense.
During the last eight years of Bert’s medical career, an opportunity arose to serve as a healthcare consultant to several hospital companies. These hospitals sought his opinion regarding acquisition targets in the areas of his expertise: Coronary and Intensive Care Units, Cardiologic Services, and Catheterization Laboratories. This mushroomed into a financial analysis of the units involved and finally into operational and financial analysis of the hospitals themselves.
When one of the not-for-profit (501)(c)(3) hospital chains Dr. Rosenthal was consulting with hit a bump in the road, the four large tax exempt bond funds that controlled the debt of that entity asked him to replace management and become the Chairman/CEO of the company. Vista Hospital Systems added over $100,000,000 in equity to its value during Bert’s tenure and the system was sold to Universal Health Services (UHS, NYSE).
Bert and Marc Selner, DPM have known each other for over 20 years. bluMjk is a co-invention of theirs following a three year collaboration to launch this company.
